Make-A-Wish Foundation

Every year, House of Travel collects toys throughout the holiday season & at our annual House of Travel party to donate to the children of Make-A-Wish Foundation. At House of Travel’s 26th Annual Holiday Party in 2011 (click for photos), we collected over 500 toys, in addition to monetary donations. Team House of Travel is proud to put smiles on children’s faces during the holidays & year round through this fantastic organization. What is Make-A-Wish Foundation?

Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has brought joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions. The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants one child’s wish in the U.S. every 40 minutes.

House of Travel is a large supporter of Massivegood & is even featured on the organization’s website. We strongly believe in making a difference through Massivegood.

What is Massivegood?

Massivegood allows leaders in the travel industry  & global health organizations to come together to put a stop to preventable deaths from HIV/AIDS, malaria & tuberculosis. Massivegood’s donation-technology allows you to make a donation every time you make a travel reservation through a participating company.

Maccabi Games

House of Travel is a proud sponsor of the College Tournament year after year at the Maccabi Games held at the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center. This year (the 30th year of the Games), House of Travel supported the community & watched as the local, Jewish youth & adults came together to take part several days of fun-filled events.

What are the Maccabi Games?

The Maccabi Games are based on the Olympic model, in which most people play for their countries of origin. Adults of all ages & children as young as five years old participate in a variety events, which include dance, swimming, spinning, basketball & tennis. There is even a competition for photographers. The Maccabi Games attracts about 5,000 people to the Jewish Community Center campus each day of the Games.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure

In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month & House of Travel’s friends & family affected by breast cancer, from October 1 – November 4, 2011, House of Travel donated money to Susan G. Komen for the Cure for each airline ticket, cruise & land tour booked through House of Travel during that time. Through our initiative, House of Travel raised over $3,000.00 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure & breast cancer research. A special thank you to all the clients who made it all possible.
