City Guides: New York Welcomes the Setai Fifth Avenue

January 17, 2011

The Setai Fifth Avenue opened its doors just two months ago, joining the ranks of some the best and most luxurious hotels in Manhattan. The highly anticipated opening caused quite the buzz in the New York travel echelon as the hotel promised to raise the bar on the luxury hotel market.

Owned by luxury hotel company Capella and headed by Horst Schulze formerly with Ritz-Carlton, the 60-story skyscraper is located in Midtown Manhattan, east of Bryant Park and surrounded by The Met, Tiffany‘s, Rockefeller Center, and The New York Public Library. Stunning views of the Empire State Building encapsulate the hotel which holds 214 rooms, starting at 400 square feet, providing ample room for its guests–in fact, the hotel promises some of the largest rooms in New York City.

So what can guests expect as part of the quintessential Setai Fifth Avenue experience? Well for starters, don’t expect arrival and departure times–guests can check-in and out as they please. Each guest is assigned a personal assistant–which besides guiding guests to their rooms, providing guests food and drinks, and even pressing their clothes–works with guests in every aspect of their New York stay from reserving restaurants at the hottest spots in the city, to filling their mini-bars with their preferred brand of drinks. In essence the hotel creates an atmosphere where nothing is left for wanted.

Guests also have other luxuries at hand, including full featured-spa Auriga, the Juliel Farel Salon, signature 5-star restaurant Ali Fiori, and first-floor Bar on Fifth.
